Well, most of the time, with exceptions, I will be posting about things I'm thankful for and why. There will be deviations of course. Aren't there exceptions to every rule? Of course! So, I'll have deviations to do a particular theme or I will be thankful for something and it will carry over into more than one post, or I'll just post something random because I'm excited about it. Blogs are for fun right? Right. So, since blogs are supposed to be fun, I'll write on other things other than thankfulness sometimes. All posts will end with a Bible verse in the NKJV.

A List of Bible Verses

Hello all! Today I'm going to put up my own list of things I'm thankful for. I'm actually going to put up a list of my favorite Bible verses. That's my spin on being creative about it. Hahaha. :)
1. Deuteronomy 7:6-11 “For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. “Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face. Therefore you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which I command you today, to observe them.
2. James 1:2-7 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
3. Philippians 4:4-9 "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you."
4. Proverbs 15:1-3 "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good."
I have many MANY more, but I'll leave it at that for now. :)
What are your favorite verses?

Today I am Thankful for: Chloe's Homecoming!

This is a really good picture of just Chloe.

Chloe got to come home on Tuesday morning! Yay! We were all very excited. Especially Leah and Hudson.
They invited all of their family members over yesterday from 1 'til whenever as like an open house thing for us all to come see her and hold her. So, we went around 4 after Harley was done with her homework and I was finished with my guitar lesson. All of Leah's family was there at that point as well as us, so that was fun! We all got a chance to hold the sweet pea. I held her for a while, then Harley had a turn, and then I took her back, because I had only gotten to hold her for a few minutes. The person who held her longest I think was my dad. He's a baby hog. And he is very honest about it too! Hahaha. So, it was fun! And we took lots of pictures and she was adorable. She slept most of the time. She cried a teeny bit while I held her, and while dad held her. But, other than that she was very content. She was wearing an adorable strawberry outfit and had her monogrammed blanket wrapped around her. Too cute. We're all in love. It's so fun to watch my brother be a daddy! It's weird though, because he still acts like a kid most of the time himself! But, he loves his little girl, and it's the sweetest thing ever. :) We can't wait to see how Philip and Mandy do with her! I'm taking them back to the apartment tomorrow evening. I guess we'll find out then! Until then, I'm thankful that Chloe is doing better and that she's home! And I'm thankful that Leah's doing so well, and that Hudson is going to be SUCH a GREAT dad.
Maddy and Chloe.

Ok, quick update on Aaron. I got a letter on Monday and a letter yesterday. The one I got on Monday had ZERO information on him, he only talked about my car, but the one from yesterday was much more informative. :) He seems to be doing really well! He said that he's doing grass week this week, which I already knew, but you guys who read this probably didn't, so yeah... And he also said he got put on double rations, but he doesn't have enough time to get but one, so he doesnt' know how that will go. He didn't say why he got put on double rations, but I assume it's because he's too scrawny. You know, he was really skinny before he left, and most guys lose weight at bootcamp, so I think he's probably just dropped too much weight. So, if you guys will remember to keep him in your prayers. :) And that was really all he said. He was excited about Chloe! He had gotten my letter that was all about her. Most of the ones I've sent since she's been born have been about her, but whatever. He got the first one about her! And that was really it.
Psalm 127:3-5 "Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate."

Chloe!!

Ok guys. Yesterday Leah had her baby! Leah is doing fine and Chloe is in the NICU right now because of some breathing problems, but nothing serious. I'm sitting here in the hospital writing this on my laptop. It's just me and Maddy here, Hudson and Leah and mom are in the NICU with Chloe. I'm not allowed. It's grandparent hour or something like that. Hudson said I probably won't get to see Chloe today, but that's ok. I saw her yesterday and she is beautiful!! I don't have any pictures. Don't ask me if I have pictures or when I will get them. I'm liable to bit your head off. When I have some pictures I will write another post including them. This is just a post to let you all know she's here!

Today I am Thankful for: The State Fair

Me and Harley on the carousel. That was fun.
There's the llama that tried to eat his cage.
Maddy and me on the SCARY Ferris Wheel!
Well, on the first Sunday of September, my dad took Maddy, Harley, and me to the state fair. It was not like I expected it to be. When I think of state fair I think of taste contests, eating contests, and animals being judged for size and stuff like that, and rides and cotton candy. This wasn't really like that. It was more like a carnival. It was really fun though! Maddy had decided that we were going to go on the Ferris Wheel. So, in the car, on the way there, dad asks who all is going to go on the Ferris Wheel. Obviously Maddy said she was going to, and Harley said she would only do it if dad did it, so he said he would. He then coerced me into doing it. I was not excited. I was scared to death. So, we wandered about a bit, then went and got in line for the Ferris Wheel.  I was terrified. I was shaking and I thought I was throw up. And that was before the darn thing even started moving! Then it started moving and I was SO scared. I was telling Maddy, "I feel like I'm gonna throw up!" And all she did was laugh at me and then she said,"Well, make sure you do it over there and not on me." No commiseration whatsoever. None at all. And then, we got all the way around, and I was under the impression that the thing only went around once, but NOOOO. That's not how it goes. No sirree. So, the blasted thing picked up speed!! Oh my word. I started to cry. Not even gonna lie. And Maddy was laughing at me and having a good ole time at my expense. And it kept going around and around and around. I mean, after the first five times I started to think, "surely this is the last time around." BUT NO. IT went around like 20 times. It was ridiculous. And I even prayed on it. I said, out loud "DEAR GOD DON'T LET ME DIE!" The girls in the seat in front of us had a very good laugh at me... And please don't think this is me being dramatic. I. Was. Terrified. Absolutely TERRIFIED. I hate heights. I get nervous on an escelator in the mall. Seriously. So, when we got off my dad gave me a big hug and he kept asking me if I was ok. And I was completely fine once we got of the thing. It was while I was ON it that I was a mess. So, I ate my cotton candy afterwords and felt slightly better. In order to feel all the way better though, I had to play a game and ride a fun ride. So, me and Harley played a ring toss kind of game, and then we went on the carousel. SO much better and WAY more fun than the Ferris Wheel. I'm tellin' ya. :) I rode a horse with an American Flag painted on it. I am patriotic. After that that was really all there was to see. We watched a puppet show and then we watched a magic show, and we also went to the petting zoo where none of the animals wanted to be pet and the llama was trying to eat his cage. Weird. But, I had a grand time! And everybody had a good time on the Ferris Wheel. Not because of the wheel itself, but because of my distress on it. Thank goodness my dad was terrified too. I mean, he didn't cry or anything, but, he was scared. He fell of a ladder many years ago and had to go to the hospital and get stitches and stuff, and ever since then he's been terrified of heights. So, at least I wasn't the only one that was scared... Hahaha.
All in all I had a very good time and so did everyone else! And I'm thankful for the experience and I'm thankful that God answered my prayer and didn't kill me while I was on the Ferris Wheel.
And my next post will probably be about my niece!!! YAY!!!!
Romans 5:18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
And yeah, I don't know why it's doing that funny space thing after the first paragraph... But whatever...

Today I am Thankful for: Mine and Maddy's Car!

Yeah, I'm sure I've spazzed at all of you already about my car. BUT. I'm so excited I must blog about it. So there. So, on Wednesday my mom told me about a car she had gotten an email about form a lady we used to go to church with. They were selling their 1999 Ford Taurus for $950. Well, mom told dad to go look at it and see if it was possible for Maddy and me to get it. The owners told us it needs some transmission work done on it, but it isn't imperative that it get done now. So, I shall be driving it for a while before I give it up and put it in a shop. Hahaha! And so, on Thursday night, as I was leaving to go babysit, as I do every Thursday, dad drives up in it! And I was just thinking "Man! Now I don't get to be here while they're deciding whether I'm gonna buy it or not!" Shoot! And I didn't even really get to look at it or anything.  I had to leave. Pronto. So, I left, and I texted my mom and talked on the phone to my sister and dad a lot of the night. Then, Maddy called and said we bought it! I was SO excited. I had my very own car with which to drive with my driver's license! How cool is that?!?!?! Very cool.
Ohoooo yes.
So, when I got home from babysitting, I had to take my dad to get his truck, and then drive it home. It's SO different driving a car as compared to a van. I rather like it though. :) So, I was very excited, and I got to drive it yesterday as well! Easier to drive in daylight. :) Much easier! So, that was fun! Maddy wanted to drive it, as it is hers as well, so she drove it to school with mom and I drove the van. But, I got to drive it home from school and to and from Bible study last night. I was very excited. And Maddy and I went to Starbucks this morning as well in celebration. And, once I got Maddy home I drove to Lowe's and got wasp killer and some D-rings for our keys. :) Very exciting! And daddy took pictures of us by our new car this morning before we left. :) Cool beans!
Oh! Funny story. My car has an alarm. So, as I was leaving to go home from Bible study last night, I unlocked my door, with the key, not the remote, and got in, and tried to start the car. The alarm went off! I have no idea why either! It probably went off for a good two or three minutes before Jacksyn took my keys from me and pressed the unlock button on the remote. I'm still flummoxed as to why it went off, but whatever. It didn't do it today either. So, that was weird. I hope it doesn't do it anymore!
Well, stay posted and I will right about the state fair soon! That was quite the adventure.
Me and my car! Oh yeah!
So, here's new from my latest letters from Aaron:
I got three letters all in bulk yesterday! I was very excited because I hadn't gotten any for over a week. So, he mentioned in one that he had been put on light duty. Light duty is basically light duty. Not as hard as it had been. He said he didn't get to do anything. I assume this was because of his blisters from his boots. And then in another letter he mentioned that he had been taken off, so thank goodness for that! And he said that he got 4 hours of free time for Memorial Day, but they had to iron their Cammies during that, so he thought by the time he sat down to write me that it was almost over. He said he was excited about swim week, but not excited about the gas chambers. Still waiting to hear about how that all went. They are kept really busy and so he doesn't get time to be too homesick, so that's good! And he mentioned getting protein bars and vitamin C packs and he said that made him feel energized. They got sent to the sand pit for the first time the other day apparently. He HATED that. Hahaha! He said that the SDI's were merciful and didn't make them stay in too long. And that was basically it!
Matthew 6:31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’"

Today I am Thankful for: Lazy DayZzz

Well, I've done a busy days post, and now I shall do a lazy days post. The past few days have been rather lazy days for me. My school load isn't that heavy, and I have plenty of free time for writing to Aaron, reading, and just chilling. It's really quite nice. I haven't been sleeping overly well the past few nights, so I'm particularly thankful for my light load the past couple days. I'm guilty of staying up way too late reading then getting up early to get cracking on my school work. But, that's my own fault.
Anyway... Today has been just a lovely day. I woke up later than I meant to, but I didn't need to be stressed about it, which was awesome! So, I got to chill out for a little while after my shower and I chatted with a new friend I've made and she really encouraged me this morning, and I hope I encouraged her as well! And then I did some school, and guess what? I'm done with all my school for the day! And it's only 1:30! Amazing. Truly amazing.
Well, as you all can tell, I decided to play around with the color of my font. It will probably be something different tomorrow. Hahahaha! And, I also want to just thank you all for how encouraging you've been to me! Jordan and Jenna, you're always so sweet about my posts and it really makes me smile rather a lot. You both have been an encouragment to me the past few days, Jordan, buying me stamps and your blog and stuff, and Jenna, I got your card in the mail yesterday and it made my day. :) I love you both.
Well, time for me to go use some of my lazy day free time and clean the kitchen.
Colossians 2:1-3 "For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

Today I am Thankful for: My Driver's License!

Excuse my appearance... it was early
Well, guess what everyone? (If I haven't told you already. heehee!) Last Tuesday, the very last day of August, I got my driver's license! It was super scary. I'm not gonna lie. The first girl to take it failed. So, the rest of us sat there scared out of our skin for the next hour and waited. And waited. And waited. We got there right when the court house annex opened, and the tester lady called to say she wasn't coming in until later. So, we had to wait for her. Then, there were 4 or 5 people in front of me that all had to go before I could. So, I waited for 2 hours before I got to take it. Then, I got in the car to take my test, and the lady stood outside my window and told me to do my blinkers and brake lights and all that good stuff to make sure they were in working order. Then, she told me to put my parking brake in gear and put the car in drive. The car rolled. I was freaking out. The girl who had failed had failed because her emergency break didn't work. So, I was thinking, I'm going to fail because my emergency break doesn't work!! AH. Well, I finally got it to work after three tries. Then she got in the car and we started the road test. That went really well, and when we got back to the annex, she told me I had passed! So, I was excited! She gave me my paper copy, and I'm still waiting for my hard copy to come in the mail. It was a very exciting day! And I am so thankful that my emergency break works and that I passed!
Also, if you will please excuse the quality of the pictures. My mom took them....
1 Corinthians 10:31 "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."

Today I am Thankful for: First Aid Skills

My handiwork on mom's finger.
The stick blender. Mwahahaha!
Well, it's kind of a long story, but the other night, for the first time, I used the first aid skills that I learned in my first aid class. My mom was in the kitchen making dinner, and she used her stick blender to whir up a dressing she was making so it was smooth. And all of the sudden I hear her yelling and saying she needs help. So, Maddy rushes in there to see what the problem is, and I knew since she was in the kitchen that she had probably cut herself. So, I rushed to my room to grab my first aid kit. Well, she had left this stick blender plugged in and she decided to clean it. So, she was wiping it up on the inside where the blades are, and she accidentally pressed the on button. So, it started doing it's little blending thing, and it cut her finger. She was claiming she may need stitches and that she needed dad to take care of her. So, Maddy went to get dad and I got all my first aid stuff that I thought I may need out. Scissors, gauze, medical tape, a bandaid, all that good stuff. Well, my dad came out and finally got my mom to take the towel off from around her finger, and there was only a teensy speck of blood there. So, we quickly put the gauze and tape around it to keep it from bleeding, and then she sat and iced it. As it turns out, though her finger was bruised and the cut was deep, it was a very small cut, and she was fine the next day. But, I am thankful that I had the knowledge to know what to do while I waited for dad, and I'm thankful that I was able to stay calm, because mom most certainly was not. Heehee! So, that's my story.... I didn't have a letter from Aaron today, not that I was expecting one, since I got one yesterday, so, that's all for today!

Today I am Thankful for: Letters!

Well, I got a letter from Aaron today! Wahoo! Ok, so I let Aaron's parents read it since they were over here tonight, but I thought I should maybe clear something up. In the letter he said something to the extent of, "You found _______ girl!" (I put a blank line there to keep the name from being all over the internet.) Ok. So, this girl, whose name I will not post, has been on this forum my mom showed me that's like a support system while our guys are at boot camp. Well, I met her on there and her boyfriend is in Aaron's platoon. (GO PLATOON 1084!!) And she emailed me, and we had been emailing back and forth quite a bit, and I asked Aaron in a letter if he knew her boyfriend. Well, that's what that whole line in the letter was about. :) Just wanted to clear that up. So, I waited for the mail today. I waited and waited. And it usually comes right at 2:00, so it was two, and I went and checked. No mail. I checked three times before I had to leave for my guitar lesson, and saw the mailman on the way down the road. I was totally bummed. So, I ran down to the mailbox right after I got home from my lesson, and surfed through all the mail, and what do you know? I had a letter! I was so excited. He explained to me what scuzzing the deck is, and he also told me he got some envelopes! So, that was good! Because he had been sending letters to his family along with mine so that he could save his envelopes. So, we all sent him some, and I have sent him a bunch, but he probably won't need them now. Whatever... Anyway! He didn't mention the food in this one. I was shocked! Hahaha! Anyway. That's basically the whole content of that letter. It was short, but it made my day anyway. :) And that's all I'm going to write about for now. I shall write a more interesting post later. For now, I leave you with this:
James 1: 2-8 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
